Purchase a pair in the Chestnut colour and they are super warm (definitely windproof). Wish that came in 3 different sizes cause I have super small hands and the S/M fits slightly loose. A thing to watch for is that your facial colour can easily stain the mittens.

Good so far, but it hasn't been super cold, which is what I bought them far. It is an expensive purchase that is very cute and fits well, but were bought to fill a specific need and I thought they would have been thicker. Others I showed them to were also surprised. I just think they should have been thicker and that might be what stopped wind from penetrating. If my fingers get cold on days in the high teens and wind, I will be very disappointed. Plus, I don't know if this is just part of shearling for the hands, but after only 3 usses there are already darkened spots in various places.

I bought for the coldest days in NYC. I don't know that this will do the trick. I thought the shearling would be thicker and so did others to who I showed them. So far, they have been good, but it hasn't been super cold and I do feel the wind going through. Plus, I have worn them just 3 times and for not a lot of time and there are darkened spots in various spots. Is this normal with shearling?

I LOVE these mittens! It's like having Ugg boots for your hands. If you think they are amazing on your feet you should try these for your hands. I never have cold hands anymore! I have very poor blood circulation and carpal tunnel syndrome, which when combined with cold weather is VERY painful on my fingers. I cannot wear gloves bc the seperation of my fingers makes them get cold quickly and once cold they have a really hard time getting warm again. These mittens keep my fingers close so they stay warm. I don't even have to put my hands in my pockets anymore :)I have had the same pair for two years and they are in great shape. I am thinking of getting another color to match with my new boots.

These are the warmest mittens ever and if you were stuck in antarctica with only one thing, you woud want these. They feel amazing inside but do look kind of ugly at first glance. trust me, you learn to love them lol. i have three pairs because they get a bit worn out when you wear them as much as i do.
